“Fare Thee Well” - Village Music

So long to another local institution…

It seems as if every town has their hits with small businesses closing these days. Yet, this one is a hurt in the vinyl digging world. Here’s to Village Music in Mill Valley, which is one helluva spot to discover and shop for old vinyl and tunes.

The good thing is that if you’re living in the Bay Area, you’re going to be treated to a very special event when you stop in for your last visit. DJ Shadow is performing for the entire month.

My boy, Clark, stopped through the store, and bought some vinyl. Perhaps, if you’re popping through Mill Valley, pop-in, snap some photos, buy some vinyl, and send me the feedback.

Check out the notice from Village Music, and enjoy their picks of Shadow and the store.

SHADOW SPINNING FOR ENTIRE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER AT LOCAL RECORD STORE!

Some people have been asking about this, so we thought we’d set the story straight. A legendary record store in Mill Valley, California (outside of San Francisco)
called Village Music is closing down after 50 years of continuous operation, and to commemorate the occasion, DJ Shadow is going to be spinning records live for the entire month. So far he’s been in every day this week, and plans to spin for at least a couple of hours a day until the final party on September 30th. Stop in and say hello, or better yet, buy a few records from Village Music before another vinyl store closes its doors forever.

See you there!

In the meantime, support your local record store…They’re fading fast…
Keep Diggin’,
