Bret Dougherty is an emerging media sales professional and strategic marketing professional with over thirteen years of extensive sales, marketing, and brand management experience. His past work experience includes eGroups/Yahoo! in San Francisco, YuMe Networks in Chicago, and with companies such as MTV, AOL Time Warner, and Nike.
Dougherty earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration at UNC-Chapel Hill. He holds a Master Degree of Regional Planning from UNC Chapel Hill with a Certificate of Media & Technology from the School of Journalism at UNC Chapel Hill. During this time, his studies focused upon economic development, urban design, and online marketing strategy. His thesis centered upon the use of wireless technology to revitalize public places.
In 2008, Dougherty earned his MBA from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at UNC-Chapel Hill focusing upon strategic management, marketing, brand management, and alliance strategy.
Dougherty also develops media content. Between 2003-2008, he hosted WXYC’s ‘Sports Rap’ on Sunday nights in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
