A buddy of mine sent me the “Chronic of Narnia” online segment from SNL via YouTube last week…
It cracked me up, and I loved every second of it. Even more so, because each and every day that I stroll past Magnolia Bakery, I’m stunned that people wait in line for their cupcakes and “home-made” recipes. The good thing is that at least they have the tour buses dropping off bewildered tourists on Hudson Street instead of the park. While looking at the riders get off the buses with their gazes into the trees and dumbfounded looks, I keep waiting to see if R.P. McMurphy and “Chief” are going to arrive someday.
With my jibe at Magnolia Bakery to the side, here’s the SNL video from my YouTube collection. Also, check out the story that appeared in the NYTimes today. Dave Itzkoff’s ” Nerds in the Hood, Stars on the Web” tells the story behind the video and how many times the short film has been downloaded…Can you believe 1.2 million…That’s huge.
But what’s more amazing to me is the popularity of YouTube and the amount of mass that the site is collecting. I’m keeping my eye out for this because I’m hooked on it…Check out the service…It’s a good one.
